Week 5 - Communication

One of the things I’m always telling players is that communication is important to being a successful football team.

The dictionary’s definition of communication is ‘the exchange of information or opinions”.

After seeing that definition keep in mind you should communicate with:

  • Your coach to insure you know what your assignment is and what his expectations for executing that assignment.
     

  • The other players in your area/discipline, e.g. offensive line. So that you’ll know what their assignment is along with yours.

That way there’s no miscommunication and everyone does what they are to do. That also means the play is almost always executed correctly and the results are what the coach and you expected.
