Blalock’s Bunch Program Starts in Atlanta

The Justin Blalock Foundation kicked off its new Blalock’s Bunch program with the Atlanta After-School All-Stars on December 7, 2009, at the Sandy Springs Middle School in Sandy Springs , GA , just north of Atlanta.

Twenty-five 'All-Stars' were rewarded with a certificate of achievement and a pizza party with Justin for achieving a 3.0 or higher GPA and a 95 percent or higher attendance rate for the Fall semester. There will be 25 more winners at eight Atlanta Public Schools honored later in December and in early January 2010.

“I felt that it was important that I give back to the community.” Blalock said. “I have always been a strong supporter of education, that's why I have partnered with the Atlanta After-School All-Stars. This is a great partnership and supports the mission of my foundation.”

The Atlanta After-School All-Stars program’s mission is to develop children into their fullest potential. The goal is to help students become critical thinkers, effective communicators, responsible citizens, technologically competitive and active life-long learners.

“We are exceedingly pleased to partner with the Justin Blalock Foundation,” Executive Director Dr. Walt Thompson said. “The collaboration between the Justin Blalock Foundation and the Atlanta After-School All-Stars will make a huge difference in the lives of so many children in the Atlanta area.”
