In 2009, the
Justin Blalock Foundation teamed
up with the
Training for Excellence
organization to present its
annual Teen Leadership Purpose
and Destiny Conference. The
Conference offered workshops on
careers, relationships, and
finances that help to build
self-esteem and confidence in
youth, how to handle peer
pressure, college preparation
tips, goal setting, money
management, time management,
communication skills, and how to
create a winning attitude.
In 2009, The Justin Blalock
Foundation also supported the
Man Up! program and the Top
Achievers Foundation. Here are a
couple of comments from students
that benefited from the
Foundation’s support.
“I traveled to
Hsinchu Taiwan representing the
City of Plano and the United
States as a member of the 2009
Plano Youth Ambassador. This
appointment was granted by DFW
Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce
after I underwent a rigorous
interview to gain a spot on the
delegation. The support from
Justin Blalock Foundation made
this experience possible”.
-Malcolm Mann
“I currently
workout on basketball skills at
Top Achievers Foundation and
received “New Comer of the Year”
honors. Scholarship offers are
pouring in from Colorado
University, Southern Methodist
University, Boston College to
name a few. If it wasn’t for
Justin Blalock Foundation’s
support I would have not be able
to attend the summer show cases
to be seen by colleges coaches
or showcase my talents”.

Standardized Tests Prep and
Scholarship Workshops
The Foundation
presented an SAT exam
preparation workshop in Fall
2008. Plans are being made to
include preparation for the ACT
exam in 2010, along with a
scholarship workshop.
Annual Football Camp
Starting in the
Summer of 2010, the Foundation
will offer a 1-day football camp
that will teach football skills
will be targeted to aspiring and
existing athletes, ages 11-18.
The workshop will also highlight
topics such as “Nutrition for
Athletic Success” and “Balancing
School with Sports” that will
empower and encourage young
athletes. Watch the Events
section of the website for
updated information.
